At Ballinafagh Farm we are committed to working with the best Conservation Agriculture practices & continuously improving our farming methods to safe guard our environment & the biodiversity around us.
Forestry
In year 2000 a decision was made to plant trees on farm. Today we have a living diverse forestry on almost ~17% of the farm area. This is carefully managed as a Continuous Cover Forestry.
Space for nature
Since planting the forestry & seeing the benefits to nature we have ceased farming on a further 7% area & created a space for nature area with the help of Biodiversity Ireland.
Leading the
Way in No-Till with Duncan Ag
Since 2014 we switched our cereal farming system from conventional to No till with the purchase of a seed drill from New Zealand drill manufacturer Duncan Ag.
Duncan Ag manufactures a wide range of no till seed drills for all conditions & soil types. We were so satisfied with the results of our machine we now promote & sell Duncan no-till in Ireland & UK.
